چکیده :
Nitric acid is one of the principal materials in the chemical and petrochemical industries. Nitric acid has a widespread application in various industries. Manufacturing fertilizer is the main portion of nitric acid production. Also, it is used in steel refining, explosives production, and military applications. The industrial production of nitric acid is achieved by a complex series of reactions referred to as the Ostwald process. In this study, the nitric acid production unit of Karun Petrochemical is simulated and modeled in Aspen Hysys. The Peng-Robinson equation of state, according to its capability for industrial simulation, is utilized for this simulation. In this simulation, the converter and absorber column are the main pieces of equipment considered. The simulation of the ammonia converter involves the utilization of plug-flow and equilibrium reactors. The absorber column is represented by the equilibrium reactor and the absorber column in order to accurately simulate the process conditions. The main purpose of this study is to produce nitric acid with a concentration of 64.99%, which in the simulation process reaches 64.84%.
