چکیده :
Adding pin fins to jet impingement annular heat sink is a common passive technique to improve heat transfer. This article examines the impact of adding pin fins to the jet-impinging annular channel. A numerical study compared the performance of an impinging jet heat sink equipped with regular hexagonal pin fins against a simple channel configuration without pin fins. The analysis was conducted within a circular channel measuring 15 mm in length and 4 mm in height. Regular hexagonal pin fins were employed, with a ratio of 80% of the pillar's height to the channel's height. A single-phase water fluid was employed as a coolant within the Reynolds number range of 10,000 to 25,000. The channel material is copper, and a heat flux of 100 W/cm2 is applied to the bottom. The findings suggest that the channel with regular hexagonal pin fins enhances heat transfer in comparison to the simple channel but incurs a higher pressure drop.
