Techno-economic analysis of grid-connected bifacial and monofacial photovoltaic power plants: A case study

چکیده :
Electricity energy imbalance refers to the imbalance between electricity supply and demand. One of the main solutions to solve this challenge is utilization of photovoltaic power plants. The present study examines the thermo-economic analysis and comparison of bifacial and monofacial modules in a 3 MW grid-connected solar power with utilizing PVsyst software plant under conditionof the Khomein County, Iran. Results shows that the yearly energy injected into the grid using monofacial modules is 5706.53 MWh, with a daily average of 15.6 MWh, and using bifacial panels, is 6105.47 MWh, with a daily average of 16.7 MWh. The payback period for monofacial and bifacial modes is 3.5 and 3.2 years, respectively. Also, the levelized cost of energy is 0.020 and 0.019, respectively. The energy production and net revenue with bifacial modules is about 7% higher than monofacial modules.
