Energy Management in Grid-Connected Microgrids by Using Harris Hawks Optimization

چکیده :
The integration of renewable energy sources and the advancement of smart grid technologies have given rise to grid-connected microgrids as an effective means of enhancing energy resilience and sustainability. This research paper proposes a novel approach to optimize the energy management and minimize operational costs in grid-connected microgrids through the application of Harris Hawks Optimization (HHO). HHO, inspired by the collaborative hunting behavior of Harris's hawks, exhibits a powerful search and optimization capability. In this investigation, the microgrid incorporates distributed generation (DG) sources, wind turbines (WT), microturbines (MT), photovoltaic systems (PV), and fuel cells (FC). The main goal is to reduce the operational costs of the microgrid. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated on a conventional microgrid, and the simulation results achieved through the Harris Hawks Optimization are compared with outcomes from various optimization techniques.
