Fault Ride Through Enhancement Methods in Wind Energy Systems: A Brief Review

چکیده :
In most countries, for environmental reasons and the growth of energy demand, the use of renewable energy, especially wind energy, is increasing. Hence, the integration of wind energy systems (WESs) into the power grid and their reaction when grid faults occur has become a challenging issue in grid code provisions in terms of stability and reliability. Consequently, increasing the fault ride-through (FRT) in grid-connected WESs is one of the most influential subjects related to grid codes. Therefore, considering the importance of FRT enhancement in grid-connected WESs, in this paper, the available methods for increasing FRT are briefly introduced and discussed. Then the advantages and limitations of each of these methods are mentioned. Finally, recommendations for future work in this field are provided.
