Application of clean energies in agricultural greenhouses

چکیده :

The greenhouse cultivation area is increasing because of limitation in farm lands, population growth and increase in agricultural productions demand. In equal area with similar conditions, more energy is needed for cultivation in agricultural greenhouse than conventional farming in open area. Energy is needed for heating, cooling, ventilation, lightening, irrigation, etc. Heating and cooling are the main and more sensitive factors, which need high amount of energy. Major part of these energies are provided by using fossil fuels. Shifting from fossil fuel-based energy sources to renewable energy sources would assist in reducing climate change and its impacts. Most available renewable energies are solar, geothermal, wind and biomass. Relevant methods and equipment must be selected and use to optimize the energy consumption and costs by focusing on the renewable energy resources. Selection of the kind renewable resources must be done based on the energy audit, which is related to the geographical area, climate conditions, kind of crop production, cultivation surface area, budget and some other parameters.
