A High-Gain Common-Ground Single-Switch DC-DC Converter with Low Voltage Stress on the Power Switch and Diodes

چکیده :
This article presents a common-ground single-switch DC–DC circuit designed for high gain. By employing a magnetically coupled inductor, the propounded configuration attains an elevated voltage gain, particularly when operating with a moderate duty cycle, surpassing the performance of other structures. The extension of voltage gain is achievable by either augmenting the duty cycle of the single switch or adjusting the turn ratio (N). This circuit offers several merits, including diminished voltage stress on power switches and diodes, the availability of a common ground, and enhanced efficiency. The incorporation of a coupled inductor (CI) eliminates the need for a high-power switch duty cycle, consequently minimizing conduction losses and raising overall efficiency. Furthermore, the diminished voltage stresses enable the use of lower-rated semiconductors, leading to cost and size reductions. To validate the theoretical propositions, a practical implementation of a 300W circuit with a 50 kHz operational frequency, 20V input voltage, and 180V output voltage has been realized in the laboratory.
